Legal Officer
Job Summary
We are looking to promote an ambitious and career driven individual for the position of Legal Officer. This will be a great opportunity for someone who demonstrates passion in their work and possesses considerable experience in the job role.

Job Purpose
To assist the Senior Legal Officer and the Company Secretary in executing their assigned responsibilities
Main Responsibilities.
- Follow up with external lawyers on progress of various litigated matters, and escalating to the Management if necessary,
- Draft Legal and advisory opinions, Legal documents such as contracts, applications and affidavits, and carrying out legal research,
- Log and distribute incoming mail including regular and electronic mail,
- Assist in setting up, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems in accordance with recognized procedures and standards,
- Update status and tracking Legal reports,
- Collect and retrieve information from files as needed,
- Compiling departmental reports,
- Editing correspondence, minutes, letters, memos, and presentations,
- Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy,
- Process and distribute legal documents effectively,
- Provide administrative support including copying, and scanning of Legal Documents,
- Maintain accurate expense account records for Legal matters,
- Prepare and process expense reports and reconciliations,
- Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court, and
- Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions.
Requirments:
· Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized University
· At least 2-3 years relevant experience (good knowledge in Commercial Law)
· Membership of Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) will be an added advantage
· High levels of integrity, Leadership/interpersonal skills, analytical as well as report writing skills and,
· Ability to work with minimum supervision
